How do you take Praziquantel?

Your doctor will calculate your exact dose based on your body weight — usually 20 mg per kg of body weight, taken 2 to 3 times in one day depending on the type of worm infection. Swallow the tablets whole with water during a meal. Do not chew the tablets as they taste very bitter and can cause you to vomit. Space each dose about 4 to 6 hours apart as directed by your doctor.

People who are allergic to praziquantel, anyone with eye worm infection (ocular cysticercosis) as killing worms in the eye can cause serious damage, children under 4 years old, and people currently taking rifampicin for TB treatment.
