Esomeprazole is a drug that reduces the amount of acid your stomach produces by blocking the tiny pumps in your stomach wall that release acid. It belongs to a group called proton pump inhibitors (PPIs) and helps your stomach and food pipe heal from acid damage.
What is it used for?
Heartburnstomach ulceracid reflux (when acid flows back up into your throat)damage to the food pipe from too much stomach acidstomach ulcer caused by pain relievers like ibuprofen or diclofenacinfection caused by a germ called H. pylori (used together with antibiotics)
