This is an intravenous (IV) fluid solution containing sodium lactate, sodium chloride, and potassium chloride — it works by replacing lost body fluids, salts, and electrolytes to restore the body's normal fluid balance.
Replaces depleted sodium, potassium, and chloride ions while lactate is metabolized by the liver to bicarbonate, restoring intracellular and extracellular electrolyte concentrations and correcting metabolic acidosis. This rapidly rehydrates tissues and restores osmotic balance, normalizing cellular function and cardiovascular stability.

This is not a drug you take by mouth. It is given slowly through a drip (IV line) into your vein by a doctor or nurse in a hospital or clinic. The amount and speed depend on how dehydrated you are and your body's needs — your doctor will decide the right dose for you.
Since this fluid is given by a healthcare professional in a hospital setting, missed doses are not usually an issue. If your drip is stopped early or interrupted, inform your nurse or doctor immediately.
This drip should only be given in a hospital or clinic by trained medical staff — never attempt to set up an IV drip at home. Make sure the fluid is from a trusted brand like Darrow's Full Strength, Darrow's Half Strength, Dele Fluids, or Unidar-F Infusion. If you notice swelling, breathing difficulty, or unusual heartbeat during the drip, alert your nurse or doctor immediately.
Other potassium-containing medicines or supplements can cause dangerously high potassium levels when combined with this drip. Blood pressure medications like ACE inhibitors or potassium-sparing diuretics (water tablets) may also interact. Always tell your doctor about all medicines you are taking.
