This is a combination supplement containing iron (as sodium feredetate), folic acid, vitamin B12, and zinc that works together to build up your blood, prevent anaemia, and support your body's overall health.

Usually take 1 capsule once or twice daily, preferably with food to reduce stomach upset. You can take it with orange juice or vitamin C to help your body absorb the iron better. Follow the instructions on the Lycofer pack or as your doctor or pharmacist advises.
If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. But if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed one and continue as normal. Do not take two capsules at once to make up for it.
Buy only from trusted pharmacies — avoid buying blood tonics from roadside sellers or unverified online stores, as fake supplements are common in Nigeria. Do not take more than the recommended dose thinking it will build your blood faster, as too much iron can be dangerous. If your symptoms of low blood (dizziness, tiredness, pale palms) do not improve after a few weeks, see your doctor.
Avoid taking this supplement at the same time as antacids (like aluminium or magnesium hydroxide) or tetracycline antibiotics, as they reduce iron absorption — space them at least 2 hours apart. Tea and coffee can also reduce how well your body absorbs the iron, so avoid drinking them close to when you take your capsule.
