This is a medicated cream that combines silver sulfadiazine (an antibiotic that kills bacteria on wounds) with chitosan (a natural substance that helps wounds heal faster and stops bleeding). Together, they protect burns and wounds from infection while speeding up healing.
Releases silver ions that inhibit bacterial DNA replication and protein synthesis by binding to bacterial enzymes and nucleic acids, while chitosan promotes wound healing through hemostasis, enhanced epithelialization, and creation of a moist antimicrobial barrier that prevents microbial colonization.

This is a cream applied directly to the skin — not swallowed. Clean the wound gently, then apply a thin layer (about 1-2mm thick) of the cream over the entire wound area. Cover with a clean bandage or dressing. Reapply once or twice daily, or each time the dressing is changed. Always wash your hands before and after applying.
If you forget to apply the cream at the usual time, clean the wound and apply it as soon as you remember. Then continue with your regular schedule. Do not apply extra cream to make up for the missed application.

Always complete the full course even if you feel better. Stopping early can cause the infection to return and become drug-resistant.
Buy only from reputable pharmacies — look for the brand name Acdazin Cream and check the expiry date. Do not use this cream on deep or very serious burns without first seeing a doctor at a hospital. Keep the wound and dressing clean to prevent infection, and do not share your cream with others as wound infections can spread.
Do not use other medicated creams or wound treatments on the same area at the same time without asking a doctor. If you are using any enzyme-based wound cleaning products (like collagenase), silver sulfadiazine can stop them from working. Let your doctor know if you are taking any sulfonamide antibiotics by mouth, as this combination may increase side effects.
