Indapamide is a type of water tablet (diuretic) that helps your body get rid of extra salt and water through urine, and also relaxes your blood vessels, which helps to lower high blood pressure.
Inhibits sodium reabsorption in the distal convoluted tubule by blocking thiazide-sensitive Na-Cl cotransporters, increasing urinary sodium and water excretion to reduce blood volume and lower blood pressure. Also produces direct vasodilation through calcium channel antagonism, further reducing peripheral vascular resistance.

For high blood pressure, the usual dose is one 1.5 mg sustained-release tablet (like Natrilix SR or ProNalix SR) taken once daily in the morning, swallowed whole with water. Do not crush or chew the SR tablet. You can take it with or without food, but taking it in the morning is best so you are not waking up at night to urinate.
If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember — but if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed one and continue as normal. Do not take two tablets at once to make up for it.

Do not stop taking this drug suddenly because your blood pressure seems normal; high blood pressure often has no symptoms but still damages your body. NSAIDs like ibuprofen (e.g. Ibrufen, Nurofen) can reduce its blood pressure-lowering effect. Alcohol can increase dizziness and make your blood pressure drop too low, so limit alcohol while on this drug.
