Furazolidone is an antibiotic that works by killing bacteria and certain parasites in your gut, stopping them from growing and causing infection.
Inhibits bacterial protein synthesis by damaging DNA through generation of reactive oxygen species and nitro group reduction, while also disrupting bacterial enzyme systems; additionally demonstrates antiprotozoal activity against Giardia by interfering with anaerobic metabolism and cellular respiration pathways.

Adults should take 100mg (one tablet) four times a day, usually for 5 to 7 days. Take it with food to reduce stomach upset. Swallow the tablet with a full glass of water. Always complete the full course even if you feel better.
If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. But if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed one and continue your normal schedule. Do not take two doses at once to make up for it.
