Who is this for?
Flutamide is an anti-androgen medication that works by blocking the effects of male hormones (like testosterone) on the body, which helps slow down the growth of prostate cancer cells that depend on these hormones to grow.
Binds competitively to androgen receptors in prostate cancer cells, blocking the effects of testosterone and dihydrotestosterone, thereby inhibiting androgen-dependent tumour growth and proliferation.

The usual dose is one 250mg tablet taken three times a day (morning, afternoon, and night), every 8 hours. You can take it with or without food, but taking it with food may reduce stomach upset. Swallow the tablet whole with water. Always follow your doctor's specific instructions.
If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. But if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed one and continue your normal schedule. Do not take two doses at once to make up for the missed one.
