Epoetin alfa is a man-made version of a natural hormone your kidneys produce called erythropoietin, which tells your body to make more red blood cells — the cells that carry oxygen around your body.

What is it used for?

Low blood level (anaemia) caused by kidney diseaseanaemia from cancer chemotherapyanaemia related to HIV treatmentreducing the need for blood transfusion before major surgery
