Dabigatran etexilate is a blood thinner (anticoagulant) that works by blocking a substance called thrombin in your blood, which helps prevent blood clots from forming. It is sold in Nigeria under the brand name Hetsolid.

What is it used for?

Prevention of stroke in people with irregular heartbeat (atrial fibrillation)treatment of blood clots in the legs (deep vein thrombosis) and lungs (pulmonary embolism)prevention of blood clots after hip or knee replacement surgery
