Ceftriaxone and Sulbactam is a combination antibiotic injection. Ceftriaxone kills bacteria by stopping them from building their protective walls, while Sulbactam helps by blocking a trick some bacteria use to resist the antibiotic — making the combination stronger against tough infections.
Inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis by binding to penicillin-binding proteins and preventing peptidoglycan cross-linking; sulbactam irreversibly inhibits beta-lactamases, protecting ceftriaxone from enzymatic degradation and extending activity against resistant gram-negative and anaerobic organisms.
