Ceftazidime/Avibactam (sold as Zavicefta in Nigeria) is a powerful combination antibiotic given through a drip (IV infusion) in the hospital. Ceftazidime kills bacteria, while Avibactam helps it work against stubborn bacteria that have become resistant to many other antibiotics.
