Carbetocin is an injection that works like a natural hormone called oxytocin — it causes the womb (uterus) to contract firmly after childbirth to prevent excessive bleeding.

Prevention of excessive bleeding after delivery (postpartum haemorrhage)especially after caesarean section (CS) or normal delivery
