How do you take Artemether?

Artemether injection is given by a healthcare professional into the muscle (usually the thigh). For adults, the usual starting dose is 3.2 mg per kg body weight on the first day, then 1.6 mg per kg body weight once daily for at least 3 more days. Do not inject this yourself at home — always let a trained health worker administer it. Once you can swallow, your doctor will switch you to oral antimalarial tablets to complete treatment.
