This is a combination medicine containing two blood pressure-lowering drugs — Telmisartan (which relaxes blood vessels by blocking a chemical called angiotensin) and Amlodipine (which relaxes blood vessels by reducing calcium entry into vessel walls). Together, they work in two different ways to bring your blood pressure down more effectively.
Blocks angiotensin II type 1 (AT1) receptors and L-type calcium channels, reducing peripheral vascular resistance and vasodilation to lower blood pressure through dual inhibition of the renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system and calcium-dependent vascular contraction.

Take one tablet once daily, with or without food. Swallow it whole with a glass of water. Try to take it at the same time every day so you don't forget. Your doctor will choose the right strength for you — common Nigerian brands include Cardiotan, Twynsta, Telam, and Telsartam. Do not stop taking it even if you feel fine, because high blood pressure often has no symptoms.
If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. But if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed one and continue your normal schedule. Do not take two tablets at once to make up for the missed dose.
Buy only from licensed pharmacies — avoid roadside or market sellers, as fake blood pressure drugs are common in Nigeria and can be very dangerous. Do not stop taking this medicine on your own because you feel fine — high blood pressure is a silent killer. Check your blood pressure regularly at a clinic or with a home monitor to make sure the drug is working.
Avoid taking with other blood pressure medicines (like ACE inhibitors such as Lisinopril or Ramipril) without your doctor's guidance, as this can cause dangerously low blood pressure. NSAIDs like ibuprofen (commonly used for body pain in Nigeria) can reduce the effectiveness of this drug and affect your kidneys. Alcohol can increase dizziness and lower your blood pressure further, so limit or avoid it.
